Art: Ron/Hermione and Ron portrait

It' sunday and I have the house all to myself. I have no plans, I've made rooibos tea and I'm listening to Sigur Ros. And outside it's raining. I love summer rain. Besides from the fact that there has been something wrong with my ear since swimming yesterday, I love days like this!

Doesn't roiboosh taste like autumn?

I received a wonderful birthday video from [info]oncelikeshari made with my drawings. I don't quite understand how she did it, but she managed to create such a lovely mood and a story and even though they are my drawings I could just watch it again and again... The song and the lyrics fits so perfectly well to what I try to express!

I was also so lucky to receive my Weasley_fest gift witch I loved so much I'm working on a series of illustrations for it, so I'll get back to that in a later post. But in the meantime if you want to read it, which I highly recommend, it's here (Ron/Hermione - R ):

Oh, and there's midnightsun in Norway. About one in the morning (1:00 am) It was raining all day so it was kind of cloudy:

Oh! don't delete the Ron portrait, it's beautiful, the black and white shading with the hint of blue in his piercing gaze works wonderfully well. Also, the way you've positioned him makes it very intense and powerful.
In the other two pieces it's the hands that have caught my attention. You have a way of drawing hands that really illustrates the action...the touch...if that makes sense. And the connection between the two characters, in both pieces, is very well done.

Thank you. I always feel like the hands I draw look very child like, even though I'm trying to draw grown ups - it's difficult... I'm glad you like the portrait, I won't delete it then. I just don't feel right about drawing a portrait of him for some reason. Everyone's got such clear ideas of how they think he looks and I don't want to ruin it!

It was indeed perfect for me, and the 'mystery' person included every one of my prompts, which must have been hard, because they were kind of weird.

I won't delete the portrait then, but I can't look at it for some reason.

god, the lighting in these pieces! i love how soft and diffused it is in ron's portrait and, looking at your photographs of the midnight sun I can totally see the inspiration for it!

I really do hope you get to come to Norway one day and see it one day. In the pictures I posted it was cloudy, these are a bit better, also in the middle of the night

I have seen a midnight sun a few years ago, when I was on holiday in iceland. I had never seen it before and it was just beautiful!
But also strange, I had to get used to it. We were sleeping in a tent and one night I woke up and was convinced it was morning (well... there was the SUN!), so I got up, had a shower, brushed my teeth and started packing my things.

Yeah, my friends laughed at me the rest of the trip everytime I went to bed. :)

But your pictures are gorgeous. I can't wait to visit Scandinavia again.

LOL! It happens though. I get confused a lot too. It is annoying... Poor you. Wasn't Iceland amazing though? I went there once for a music festival and absolutely loved it, even though it rained every day =)

I don't believe i have properly commented before, but i love your brilliant work. it's full of contrasts. whimsy and heartache coexist in harmony. Somehow your work always looks earnest and deceptively simple while at the same time, the images have elaborate detail and an intoxicatingly dream-like quality. Your images tell a lot of stories at once. It's really something.

I don't know how at all you do it, but it is a pleasure to see. There is nothing else like you in fandom.

These are both fantastic, but I especially love the way you've drawn their hair in the second piece - it's like I can feel the texture just by looking at the drawing. Plus I love the line of Hermione's body.
